Fakeempire is a video that shows the boundaries of painting, design, typography, sound and moving image. It is the confrontation of iconic images taken from London and my personal view about living in powerful capital cities. Conceptually, the whole aesthetic has been developed from an abject and unconscious point of view that distort any sense of reality.

드로잉, 텍스트 메세지를 담고 있는 각기 다른 형태의 구조물들을 벽면에 쌓아 올리고, 그 위에 빔프로젝터로 맵핑한 영상을 영사한 혼합 매체 설치 작품으로, 영국이라는 공간, 나라에서 무명의 이민예술가이자 이방인으로 살아가면서 느끼는 박탈감, 소외감, 피로감 등을 표현한 작업이다.

영국 유학시절, 정착하는 과정에서 크고 작은 일들을 겪으며 구상하게 된 작품이며, 나와 비슷한 처지로 자주 어울리던 콜롬비아 출신 작가 다니엘 칼데론(Daniel Calderon )과 협업했다.
